Smoker Quarter Midget Ratchet Hub

The Smoker ratchet hub is a one-way left rear hub that freewheels down the straights and locks up under cornering load. Because quarter midgets run stagger with a larger right rear tire, a locked left rear scrubs speed every time the car straightens out. The ratchet solves that. Internal pawls release when the car is pointed straight so the left rear can spin freely, then engage the moment the driver loads the chassis into the corner. The result is less drag on the straightaway without giving up drive off the corner.
