Quarter Midget Axles & Components
The rear axle assembly is one of the most tuning-sensitive areas of a quarter midget. Hub selection alone — locked, ratchet, or idler — changes how the car rotates through the center of a corner and how it drives off. Axle gear tooth count determines how your gear ratio plays out at a specific track, balancing corner acceleration against straightaway speed. Get these components right and they become setup tools. Leave worn or mismatched parts in the car and they become the reason you are chasing your tail on handling all weekend.
This collection covers rear axles, axle gears, hubs, and the related components needed to maintain and tune your drivetrain. VAST's own axle gears are CNC machined from 7075 aluminum with black anodizing, available in 24 through 32 tooth counts to dial in your ratio for any track. If you are not sure which hub style fits your current setup or track conditions, our hub type guide on the VAST blog breaks down the differences and when to use each one.
